The launch-readiness audit
Social presence: proof your app is real and alive
Visitors look for a social link to judge if you're real; no profiles linked reads as abandoned. Learn which networks Actuant detects and why linking two beats linking one.
Last updated 2026-07-19
This weight-4 check scans your page for links to live social profiles — the signal a visitor uses to decide whether you're a real, active project or an abandoned demo.
What Actuant checks
Links to X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Discord, or GitHub.
- Two or more networks linked → pass.
- Exactly one → partial ("one channel is a single point of failure").
- None → fail ("visitors can't follow or vouch for you").
It sits in the trust category alongside Privacy policy (weight 3), Terms (weight 2), Company identity (weight 2), and Contact method (weight 3) — together they're what a stranger uses to decide you're real.
Why it matters
Before anyone trusts a new app, they look for signs of life — a founder posting, a community, a repo. Two linked channels signal you're reachable and building in public; zero reads as a graveyard.
How to fix it
- 1
Link at least two profiles
For dev tools, X and GitHub work best. Put them in the footer.
- 2
Actually post
Share the build journey where you already show up — launch traffic compounds there.
